This article examines the theoretical and practical foundations for improving the economic efficiency of the railway transport system. The role of railway transport in the national economy, factors influencing efficiency under competitive conditions in the transport services market, and issues related to tariff policy improvement are analyzed. The study evaluates the economic significance of enhancing railway infrastructure utilization, differentiating freight tariffs, developing logistics services, implementing digital technologies, and applying modern management mechanisms. Furthermore, priority directions for improving the railway freight tariff system are proposed, and scientific and practical recommendations aimed at increasing the quality and competitiveness of transport services are developed.
