This scientific article highlights the basic principles of the selection process in training centers for Olympic and Paralympic sports. Based on the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 731 dated December 30, 2022, the need for effective organization of the processes of preparation and selection of Olympic and Paralympic athletes is considered. The article analyzes the importance of the selection process, the principles of its organization, as well as the methods used in training centers. It is emphasized that success in Olympic and Paralympic sports is associated exclusively with the correct selection and preparation of experienced and qualified athletes.
