This article is devoted to the topic of the role of psychological preparation in achieving high sports results, considering the psychological characteristics of sports activities, sports motives and their manifestation. It also describes in detail the motives for success, psychological aspects of the formation of competitiveness, a sense of pride in sports, self-satisfaction, persistence, intensity of movements in sports, a sense of pride in sports, needs associated with achievements, mechanisms of internal and external control in sports.
