This article analyzes the stages of formation and development of the history of the press of Uzbekistan. It describes the policy implemented by the state in order to improve the press sphere, the achievements in the field, as well as the existing problems and proposals for their elimination. The article is devoted to the importance of the national press, its place and role in the development of society.
