This article deals with the analysis and description of detailed information about lexical doublets, their formation and development as well as word formation that were borrowed from different languages. The functional and semantic meaning that appear in translation, as well as approaches of scholars on lexical doublets have been studied. Borrowing of lexical doublets from one language to another, as well as similar and different features, functional and linguocultural characteristics and structural-semantic lexical doublets that are a special part of the vocabulary in Uzbek and English have been analyzed. These aspects and the appearance of lexical doublets in linguistics were followed by a comparative process between the meanings of words in English, Uzbek and other languages. Changes in the pronunciation and meaning of words that can be observed in these lexical doublets, as well as the use of one etymological doublet in different styles, are widely covered on the basis of the examples given in the article. The article also analyzes linguistic studies of the doublets of many linguists, as well as special approaches of some scholars on the etymological doublets of the language and factors which play a big role in this process.
