Stringed instruments occupy a central place in the symphony orchestra, forming its basisboth quantitatively and artistically. The string group includes violins (I and II), altos, cello, and double bass. This group is distinguished by its richness of timbral colors, flexibility in dynamics and expressiveness, which makes it indispensable in creating melody, harmonic background, and rhythmic structure of the work.Stringed instruments are capable of conveying a wide range of emotions - from delicate lyrics to dramatictension. Their role ranges from solo sound to complex polyphonic and textural combinations within theentire orchestral mass. Thanks to the technique of playing with a bow, pizzicato, and other techniques, stringed instruments provide a rich palette of artistic means. Historically, it was the string orchestra thatformed the basis of the symphony orchestra in the 17th-18th centuries and remains its heart to this day.Contemporary composers actively use string instruments as a means of artistic influence, experimenting withtheir sound and playing techniques. Thus, stringed instruments not only perform a melodic-harmonicfunction but also play a key role in shaping the overall timbral appearance of the symphony orchestra
