Annotatsiya

This article reviews key theories of labor migration (push–pull, human capital, and network effects) and examines Uzbekistan’s recent patterns using empirical statistics. Using World Bank and national sources, it analyzes destination structure, remittance dynamics, and key drivers of outflows. Results show that migration supports household welfare and macroeconomic stability, yet increases social vulnerabilities and dependence on a single host labor market. The paper suggests measures to diversify destinations, strengthen skills before departure, and support reintegration of returnees at home.
