The article explores the wedding ceremony of the first half of the 20th century peculiar to the inhabitants of the Altai Territory as an area of repopulation. Its features and peculiarities traditional for Russian culture and related to the specific nature of the formation of the population are noted. The analysis of stable expressions of Russian dialects of Altai and texts of dialect speakers allows us to identify changes in the ceremony during interactions and mutual influence of different cultures. This kind of research is interesting from the perspective of regional linguoculturology, history, local lore, because it expands the view on people's lives mainly in rural areas of the Altai Territory, makes it possible to compare it with the modern situation, the linguistic and cultural context of the region.
