This article is devoted to the scholarly study of the place and role of the Sogdian language in the history of Turkestan. Using scholarly data, the author examines the origins of the Eran languages in Turkestan, the history of the Iranian and Turkic languages in the region, their mutual influence, and their impact on the culture, traditions, and customs of local peoples. He also outlines his perspective on the origins of the Sogdian language.
