A comparative analysis of proverbial phraseology with the hand component in Uzbek and English was conducted. During the study, the meaning, structure and usage features of phraseology in both languages were studied, and their national and cultural characteristics were highlighted. The article reveals the linguo-cultural content of phraseology, their communicative function and their place in the worldview of the people.
