In this article, the author examines the features of negation in the English language, providing examples to support his conclusions. An analysis of the semantic types of negation is also conducted. It is well known that negation, as a key aspect of human cognitive abilities, is closely related to morphology, syntax, logical form, compositional semantics, as well as language acquisition and sentence processing. Therefore, the theoretical and empirical study of negation plays an important role in modern linguistic research.
