This article provides a comprehensive study of the metaphorical nature of Latin clinical terms. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze Latin terms in clinical terminology. Dictionaries of Latin terminology, as well as selected terms from textbooks on the Latin language, were used as research methods and materials. The analysis used descriptive, lexical-semantic, structural, comparative methods of linguistic research. An etymological, semantic and structural analysis of 50 clinical terms was carried out. This article examines the structure and origin of some Latin terms related to clinical terminology. Among the Latin clinical terms, we have identified examples of metaphorical formation.
