This paper analyzes the role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in shaping employment and job structures during the transition to a green economy. Unlike conventional perspectives that emphasize job displacement, the study identifies three mechanisms through which AI can expand employment opportunities. First, demand enhancement: greater efficiency in design, monitoring, and operations accelerates investments in renewable energy, energy-efficient construction, waste recycling, and smart agriculture, creating direct and indirect jobs. Second, task augmentation: professionals work alongside AI systems, raising productivity, improving safety, and reshaping occupational roles. Third, skills ecosystem: reskilling and upskilling deepen local integration and stimulate net employment growth. The methodology combines a conceptual framework, sector-specific scenarios, and indicative input–output assessment. Findings suggest that AI can support a net increase in employment in green sectors, while highlighting the short-term need for targeted reskilling policies.
