The article examines the representation of women in early 21st-century Russian literature. The works of L. Ulitskaya, T. Tolstaya, D. Rubina, M. Stepnova, and G. Yakhina are analyzed to show how female characters function as independent agents of cultural, spiritual, and personal meaning. The study focuses on women’s roles in preserving historical and family memory, constructing individual identity, overcoming personal and historical trauma, and achieving creative and professional self-realization. The analysis concludes that contemporary literature forms a new model of the female character - active, autonomous, spiritually profound, and culturally significant.
