This article analyzes the concept of psychological readiness of children of primaryschool age for school education, its components and patterns of formation. The study covers thedevelopment of cognitive processes, in particular, intellectual, motivational and volitionalreadiness based on the theories of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky. It also examines thecharacteristics of memory and thinking in children of primary school age, the balance betweenmechanical and logical memory, and the influence of neurophysiological development oneducational activity.
