Мақола турмуш тарзини тадқиқ қилишнинг назарий-метолологик асосларини аниқлашга бағишланган. Бунинг учун энг аввало “турмуш тарзи” категорияси назарий экспликациясини амалга ошириш, яъни тушунчанинг мазмуни, таркибий элементлари алоқадорлигини очиб бериш зарур бўлади. Шунингдек, инсон турмуш тарзининг ўзига хос жиҳатларини илмий позициядан ўрганиш учун уни нафақат статик ҳолатда, балки динамик ҳолатда ҳам таҳлил қилмоқ зарур. Турмуш тарзига оид барча тадқиқотларда қўлланиладиган мазкур икки назарий ёндашувга таяниб турмуш тарзини инсон индивидуал ёхуд жамоавий ҳаётий фаолиятининг муайян шаклини ифодаловчи тушунча сифатида очиб бериш, турмуш тарзининг таркибий тузилишини аниқлаш, бу таркибдан жой олган элементларнинг асосий хоссаларини ифодалаб бериш ҳамда турмуш тарзининг характерига кўра шаклларини очиб бериш; позитив ва негатив турмуш турзининг вужудга келишига сабаб бўладиган омилларни кўрсатиш масаласи ўрганилган.
