The article discusses the goals and objectives of cultural studies, its scope. The history of culture is also considered as a general historical process. It is said that the history of culture connects the historical knowledge of people about the past and their achievements with the philosophical understanding of the present and future. Therefore, in the field of cultural studies, the past becomes the object of study and evaluation of the present, and the present finds its confirmation and basis in the past.
