The article examines the impact of train movement closure on sections undergoing repair work on the efficiency of the transportation process. Special attention is given to comparing the options of closing train movement during "windows" with the options of complete closure for the entire duration of the repair work. The main objective of the study is to determine the optimal duration of railway track closure for the entire period of repair works. The article presents the results of calculations and analysis of the optimal duration of railway track closure, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches to organizing repair works
