The article analyzes the influence of demographic factors on the development of urbanization processes in the SouthernEconomic Region. It is substantiated that population growth in the cities of the Southern Economic Region occurs mainly due tothe high level of natural movement. Demographic problems of urbanization development were studied on the basis of statisticaldata using the example of small territories.
