This article analyzes the lexico-semantic and pragmatic challenges of translating English information security and cyber terminology into Uzbek, specifically within literary texts. The rapid growth of IT has caused an influx of specialized English terms into Uzbek, highlighting the urgency of translation, term creation, and standardization. The study investigates the semantic structure, polysemy, abbreviations, and metaphorical characteristics of these terms, evaluating their adaptation to the national language. It assesses translation methods such as calquing, transliteration, descriptive translation, and equivalent term creation. The research addresses the lack of standardized dictionaries in Uzbek and explains the linguistic features of three primary strategies: borrowing, calquing, and descriptive translation. Furthermore, it discusses pragmatic issues like preserving literary aesthetics and narrative dynamics while conveying complex technical terms, managing footnotes, and rendering contextual meanings. In conclusion, the study emphasizes using flexible translation methods to properly shape the Uzbek terminological base. The findings hold significant value for developing dictionaries, educational materials, and establishing a unified terminological system.
