The American dream and its critique in 20TH-CENTURY fiction

Annotatsiya

This paper will focus on how the American Dream was created and debunked at the same time in fiction literature during the twentieth century. Using only literary and critical sources for analysis, the study is going to discuss the transformation of the concept of the American Dream from being a notion that represented opportunities and self-realization to something that became subject to literary criticism. The analysis of classic books by F. Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck, and Arthur Miller, along with American, Russian, and Uzbek critical sources, proves this hypothesis.
