This article analyzes the specific features of expressing evaluative attitude and emotivity in diplomatic discourse. It examines thecommunicative and pragmatic functions of evaluative units and emotional-expressive means in diplomatic communication, as wellas their role in enhancing the effectiveness of speech and shaping diplomatic relations. The article also considers the ways in whichpositive and negative evaluation are expressed both directly and indirectly.
