This article analyzes the documentary work of S. Alexievich “Цинковые мальчики” and the novel “Tushda kechgan umrlar” by O‘.Hoshimov from a typological aspect. The disastrous impact of the Soviet-Afghan war on the human psyche and the absurd nature of the war phenomenon are revealed. Based on a comparative approach, scientific conclusions are put forward on the artistic expression of the war theme in national and world literature.
