Annotatsiya

This article provides a detailed discussion of the translation of national colour, lacunae, and linguocultural units found in O‘tkir Hoshimov’s novella Dunyoning ishlari (The Affairs of the World) into foreign languages, particularly English and Russian. The study scientifically analyzes the challenges of preserving the national specificity of ethnographic terms, everyday realia, phrases, and idioms in the translation of literary texts. It determines the effectiveness of transcription, calquing, hyponymic translation, and descriptive translation in rendering linguocultural units and develops scientifically grounded recommendations.
