The article presents the results of research on the chrome-free tanning process for ostrich skins. Ostrich leather is comparable in physical and chemical properties to chrome-tanned leather and even surpasses it in some respects. This improved technology facilitates the expansion of the range of exotic ostrich leathers and is of great importance in the development of a scientifically sound, competitive technology.
