Reference and referentiality in linguistics: concept, essence and classification

This article examines the concepts of reference and referentiality in linguistics, their theoretical essence, and main classifications. The study analyzes different approaches to reference developed by linguistic and philosophical scholars and discusses the role of referentiality in communication and discourse. The article also classifies the main types of reference and highlights their functional characteristics in linguistic communication.
