Annotatsiya

The article develops a multi-factor deterministic-stochastic (correlation-regression) econometric model thatmakes it possible to quantitatively measure the impact of factors on the change of the resultant efficiency indicators ofhotel business — investment efficiency, labour efficiency and profitability. The model combines two components: thedeterministic component reflects the exact (functional) impact of factors on the basis of the chain-substitution methodand the “resource — result” relationship, while the stochastic component accounts for random factors and inefficiencyon the basis of regression and stochastic frontier analysis (SFA). Using an illustrative example, a positive impact of roomoccupancy, service quality and labour productivity on profitability and a negative impact of seasonality are established;the coefficient of determination is R² = 0.82. The model allows the quantitative assessment of efficiency factors and forecasting.
