This article is devoted to a review of the literature on the aspiration of foreign bodies into the lower respiratorytract. A brief analysis of modern ideas about the etiology, classification and clinical picture of foreign bodyaspiration into the lower respiratory tract was carried out. Questions of methods of diagnostics and principlesof treatment, possible complications are considered. An example of a clinical case from our own practice of anold foreign body in the bronchus of the medial segment of the middle lobe of the right lung is also given, witha 10-year-old aspiration episode, the clinical manifestation of which was recurrent hemoptysis for 5 years.
