The language reflects all elements of cultural identity, encompassing people's lifestyle, worldview, spiritual values, beliefs, and their attitudes toward certain phenomena. Throughout history, animals have played a significant role in human life. Therefore, in almost all languages, words related to animals are actively used. When examining the vocabulary richness of Turkic languages, it is evident that there is a large number of linguistic units related to animals. Mahmud al-Kashgari’s Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk not only captures the way of life, customs, and culture of Turkic peoples but also contains a wealth of information about social life, including numerous references to animals of great importance to Turkic societies — particularly horses. In addition, some proverbs containing the component “horse” are provided and explained in the commentary of certain words. This article discusses the words and proverbs related to the horse found in Dīwān Lughāt al-Turk. People's lifestyle, worldview, spiritual values, beliefs, and attitude to certain events are reflected in language, which encompasses all elements of cultural identity. Throughout history, animals have played a very important role in human life. Therefore, words related to animals are actively used in almost all languages.
