In the article, the term creation process in the Azerbaijani language was studied. It is determined that the use of modern means of defense in the military field among the states related to the historical development of society has expanded the scope of term creation. The creation of new weapons and munitions, in general, with the constant modernization and renewal of the military field, was selected with its own character in all periods of the history of society, and newly emerging concepts were expressed in terms. Semantic, morphological, syntactic and calka methods were widely used in the creation of military terms in the Azerbaijani language. At the same time, taking into account the development of the military field all over the world, the acquisition and international terms in the Azerbaijani language also enrich the vocabulary of the language.
