The study analyzes the formation and development of a risk-based regulatory approach to ensuring thesolvency and financial stability of insurance companies. It examines the shift from administrative methods to financial andeconomic mechanisms, highlights the role of macroprudential policy, and considers the requirements of the Solvency IIstandards. The results justify the need to develop an integrated risk management system and apply modern approachesto assessing insurers’ financial stability
