This article is devoted to the study of the principle of direct and oral examination of evidence in criminal proceedings. The article discusses the concept and legal basis of proof, the significance of proof in criminal proceedings, the procedure for direct examination of evidence, the consequences of non-compliance, the importance of a thorough, thorough, complete and impartial examination of evidence. The article is analyzed on the basis of current legislation, scientific research in this field, textbooks, articles, brochures and foreign experience and offers evidence-based and important practical recommendations.
