Annotatsiya

Cervical myelopathy (CM) is a complex clinical syndrome caused by compression or impaired blood supply to the spinal cord in the cervical region due to pathology of the cervical spine. Early diagnosis and adequate therapy are critically important for preventing irreversible consequences and improving the quality of life of patients. The article presents a comprehensive algorithm for the diagnosis and treatment of CM. The algorithm includes a sequence of clinical examination aimed at identifying characteristic neurological symptoms, as well as modern methods of instrumental diagnostics, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess the condition of the spinal cord and spinal structures, and radiography to determine instability. Based on the diagnostic data, a differentiated approach to the choice of treatment strategies is proposed: conservative methods for the compensation stage or in the presence of contraindications to surgery, and surgical treatment. The presented algorithm is aimed at standardizing approaches to managing patients with cervical myelopathy, optimizing the diagnostic search and choosing the most effective treatment tactics to improve the prognosis of the disease.
