The influence of the sowing schemes of the chinese cotton variety XLZ-57 on its growth, development and yield

At the Navoi scientific experimental station, in cotton plants sown by the single-row method according to the 76 x 10 cm scheme the average height was 83 cm, the number of bolls was 15-18, the weight of a single boll was 5.8 g, the fibre yield was 41.5% and the fibre length was 31 mm. In this variant, because of the high density of the plants, a relative slowing of the development of the vegetative organs was observed in some cases. In the variant sown by the double-row (76 x 10 cm) Xinjiang method the plants were better supplied with light and nutrients. As a result the plant height reached 90 cm, the number of bolls was 10-12, the weight of a single boll was 5.4 g, the fibre yield was 40.5% and the fibre length was 30 mm. In this variant the yield was 23 c/ha higher than in the control variant. In this study the influence of sowing the XLZ-57 variety by the double-row Xinjiang method according to the 76x10 scheme and as a single row according to the 76x10 scheme on the growth, development and yield of the plants was studied. According to the results of the experiment, the influence of the sowing methods on plant height, the number of leaves, the yield elements and the final yield was determined, and the most effective sowing method was recommended.
