The effect of the polyvalent goa formol vaccine against pasteurellosis, colibacillosis and salmonellosis of farm animals on the organism of calves and measures to combat these diseases

The article presents experimental observations of an immunity duration of 9-12 months resulting from the vaccination of calves with the "Polyvalent GOA formol vaccine against pasteurellosis, colibacillosis and salmonellosis of farm animals". It was established that in the treatment of pasteurellosis, colibacillosis and salmonellosis in calves an efficacy of more than 92 per cent was achieved owing to the stabilisation of the immune system by the gamma globulins contained in hyperimmune blood serum. Information is also presented on the haematological and biochemical changes in the blood of calves in which these diseases occurred in a mixed form, and on the effectiveness determined by the MIC range of the sensitivity of E. coli, Pasteurella and Salmonella to antibiotics.
