The article examines, on a scientifically and practically substantiated basis, the methodology and the means of improving the special strength preparation of judokas at the stage of specialised basic training. They are based on the dynamometry indicators in the performance of technical actions, as well as on the optimal structure of the competition period in the annual training cycle. The special strength preparation of judokas in the training process at the stage of specialised basic training is presented as a pedagogical system controlled by the author. The quantitative characteristics of the integral efforts of judokas in performing the technical programme for the brown and black belts are recorded. The limit of the special strength preparedness of judokas was determined and substantiated on the basis of the research, and it characterises their readiness to master judo technique effectively at the stage of specialised basic training.
