The case histories of 500 patients treated for diseases of the hepatobiliary system were studied. With the help of pharmacoepidemiological methods (by collecting questionnaire data from the case histories), the case histories of the patients were studied retrospectively (from 2005 to 2010). More than 36 preparations used in practical medicine in Uzbekistan were included in the questionnaire. Great attention was paid to the combined use of hepatoprotectors in the therapy carried out, and to their efficacy and safety. All the data were analysed statistically. According to the data obtained as a result of the study, 18 of the 36 hepatoprotectors were used, while the remaining 18 were not used at all in the treatment of patients in the hospitals. Despite this, the doctors achieved good results in treating the disease.
