The article is devoted to a retrospective analysis of the forensic service in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the current state. Modern types of research conducted by forensic units, issues of international standardization and certification, as well as international cooperation are considered. The current state and prospects of development of the forensic service of the internal affairs bodies in the country are revealed.
