BIOELECTRIC ACTIVITY OF THE BRAIN IN MARTIAL ARTS ATHLETES: FEATURES OF INTERHEMISPHERIC ASYMMETRY AND RELATIONSHIP WITH AUTONOMIC REGULATION AND PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE

Annotatsiya

This article presents results of a study on the brain bioelectrical activity in martial arts athletes of different skill levels. Special attention is given to the characteristics of alpha, beta, and theta rhythms, as well as interhemispheric asymmetry and its relationship with autonomic regulation and  physical performance. Significant differences in EEG parameters were identified between high- and mid-level athletes, including dominant alpha activity, reduced frontal asymmetry, and enhanced vagal modulation of heart rate. The findings highlight the importance of central and autonomic nervous system function as key markers of adaptive resources and professional fitness in athletes.
