Annotatsiya

This research examines the pragmatic utility of affective and evaluative vocabulary within English-language scientific writing. Contrary to the traditional view of science as a purely neutral medium, this study utilizes corpus-based techniques to reveal how evaluative language functions as a strategic instrument for rhetorical persuasion and authorial positioning. The analysis indicates that lexical selections are systematically employed to justify research inquiries, substantiate methodological rigor, and manage the writer's relationship with the academic community. Ultimately, the deployment of "attitudinal markers" does not compromise objectivity; rather, it serves as a critical pragmatic tool for establishing authority and underscoring the relevance of findings in prestigious academic outlets.
