The main goal of neurosurgical operations for epilepsy is to remove the elileptogenic focus. And defining this area is not an easy task. Sometimes it turns out that the diagnosis of an epileptogenic focus requires more effort, time, financial costs than the surgery itself, so the most important thing in epilepsy surgery is pre-surgical diagnostics.
