The role and diagnostic value of MRI in DWI and FLAIR modes in early diagnosis of the acute period of ischemic stroke in 43 patients are considered. These modes were found to be interchangeable with statistically significant advantage of DWI MRI mode. MRI in DWI mode (b=1000) visualizes more real volume of the brain ischemia focus in the first day after vascular accident, which makes it an important and reliable diagnostic method in determining the acute stage of ischemic stroke.
