RESULTS OF DETECTION OF COLONIC DYSBACTERIOSIS IN THYMECTOMIZED LABORATORY ANIMALS

A quantitative analysis of the normal microflora of the large intestine in laboratory animals undergoing thymectomy revealed significant alterations at one, three, and six months postoperatively. The observed changes indicated the emergence of intestinal dysbacteriosis following thymectomy. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of thymectomy on the condition of the large intestine in experimental animals, we calculated the index of dysbacteriosis. Our findings indicate that, with increasing time after thymectomy, the depth of dysbacteriosis increases, suggesting a quantitative imbalance of indigenous and facultative representatives of the normal microflora of the large intestine in experimental animals. Our findings indicate that the degree of dysbiosis correlates with the time since thymectomy. Even six months post-surgery, the state of the intestinal microbiocenosis did not recover, suggesting that the immune system plays a significant regulatory role over the microbiocenosis of human biotopes.
