Linguistics of youth culture: a study of slang in spanish

Annotatsiya

This article explores slang as a significant element of youth culture in the Spanish language. It analyzes how youth slang reflects social changes and serves as a means of identity formation among young people. Drawing on examples from various regions where Spanish is spoken, the study identifies key functions and characteristics of youth slang, including its impact on the standard language and its role in the communicative practices of young people. The analysis reveals how slang contributes to strengthening social bonds and expressive self-expression. Directions for further research are proposed, which could enhance understanding of the interactions between language, culture, and social processes in the contemporary world.
