This article analyzes the definitions of jargon, the social groups that use jargon, and the individual characteristics of jargon in various speech situations. Before the era of anthropocentric linguistics, jargon was studied within the framework of lexicology. In modern linguistics, when jargon became the object of study for sociolinguistics, its functions expanded. Therefore, studying jargons in conjunction with the social groups that create them helps determine the reasons and purposes for their creation. Jargons can also express the psychological state of members of a social group and their place in society.
