This article discusses folklore onomastics and its terminology, a separate branch of linguo-folkloristics. It is known that folklore works actively use all types of nouns specifc to the Uzbek people and language: anthroponyms, mythonyms, toponyms, hydronyms, oronyms, zoonyms, ethnonyms. Collecting, studying and classifying these onomastic units as a product of the way of life, customs and traditions of the Uzbek people provides rich information about the history, language, culture and ethnography of our people and enriches linguistic resources.
