This article provides an overview of toponymic studies conducted in uzbek linguistics. A number of scientists who have contributed to the development of the feld of toponymy are analyzed and commented on. The problems of modern toponymy were also touched upon and thoughts were expressed about fnding a solution to the problems that had arisen.
