The article describes the oil and gas industry, which is considered one of the priority areas of the country's economy, its problems, news, production trends, the role of foreign and local scientific and research work in the field, the dynamics of funds allocated to it, resource reserves and forecasts. In particular, the analysis of the role of the oil and gas industry in the economy of the country, the economic potential and the process of increasing the efficiency of resource use was carried out.
