In this article, a scientific analysis of the situation in ensuring the independence of lawyers is carried out. Also, possible recommendations were proposed on the following topics: the independence of a lawyer, the personal inviolability of a lawyer, the legal basis for ensuring independence, the protection of immunity. And also, the requirements for the professional ethics of a lawyer. The responsibility of a lawyer for violating the ethics of advocacy in foreign countries is considered.
