This article provides important information about the persian work “Zafarnameh”, created by Nizomiddin Shomi on behalf of Amir Temur; this was the first written source dedicated to the history of his state. In the introductory part of the work “Muqaddima” (“Introduction”) it is indicated that during the Hijri period of 804–806, in the month of Ramadan (in 1401–1404, in March), this chronicle was collected into one book on the basis of stories written before that time by the palace chroniclers (munshi and kotibs). Nizomiddin Shomi's "Zafarname" became the main source for historical works on the history of Amir Temur's state, written in subsequent periods.
